Framed and matted original Court document signed by legendary U.S. Marshal E.D. Nix for the Territory of Oklahoma, dated 1893, approximately 18.5” x 35.5” overall including a commemorative crescent starbadge, a color portrait of Nix and brief historical note on Nix’s career. The Marshal oversaw the cleaning up of the Oklahoma Territory outlaw element and supervised “The Three Guardsmen”; Bill Tilghman, ChrisMadsen and Heck Thomas, Deputy U.S. Marshals famous for their ethics, bravery and productive efforts in bringing in many of the most hardened outlaws committing crimes against the citizenry at the turn-of-the 19th to 20th Century.
