Oberndorf Mauser Model Gewehr 98 bolt action rifle, 8mm Mauser caliber, serial #4867F. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 29” barrel. The barrel features a post front and curved military tangent style rearsights. The barrel and receiver retain a significant amount of their military finish with muzzle wear and a loss of finish on the magazine base. The front ring is Oberndorf marked, has several German proofs and isdated 1918. The smooth wood stock is in good condition showing only small mars and handling marks. Sling swivels are included and the butt stock ends with a smooth steel butt plate. The bore is fair, the actioncrisp and markings are sharp on this World War I era Mauser. (C+R) Est.: $400-$800.
