Steyr Gewehr 88 bolt action rifle, 8mm caliber, serial #6112. The rifle is in fair overall condition with a 30” barrel with a post front and military ladder style rear sights. The barrel and receiver have gone to a grey patina with light surface rust and erosion noted. The front receiver ring is dated 1894. All visible serial numbers match except the bolt and flag safety, while all screw heads bear a proof mark. The smoothwood stock is in fair condition having seen heavy use. The stock features numerous cartouches on both sides of the butt stock and behind the trigger guard. The butt stock ends with a smooth steel butt plate. Thebore is good, the action functions and the markings are legible. Est.: $125-$250. (Antique).
