Ultra-rare (1 of 3 known) O/U elliptical barrel blunderbuss by H Holland of London pre-dating Holland & Holland. The barrel shows collection mark (M1 2009) and maker’s cartouche in breech (Holland). Measures 30”overall with 13” iron O/U mounted elliptical barrels of very heavy construction and thickness which measures 1 ¾” across and 7/8” in height across each elliptical barrel stacked 1 over 2 with twin locks andtriggers. Very good overall with a smooth brown patina and good to very good wood. Normal age with just minor imperfections and well-marked. The Mel Flanigan collection retained 1 of 2 others known.
