possibly for Irish mercenaries who fought with the French known as “The Wild Geese.” Measures 12” overall with a 7 ¾” 3 sided triangular armour piercing blade of thick proportions with central blood grove. Green and blue enamel decoration in Celtic designs. In very good condition with undisturbed patinas and good enamel with slight losses. A museum quality dagger from the period of armour.
