Classic Pre-War German Sporting Rifle on 98 Mauser action signed “J.P. Sauer and Sohn, Suhl” with 24” barrel with raised and filed rib, 2 leaf folding sight, single trigger, left side on the receiver marked 2.75 G.B.P. over S.T.M.G. 67525.The receiver shows taps for scope and bolt handle altered to a short Mannlicher “spoon type”. A recoil pad has been added to the good wood stock. Measures 13 ½” to the end of the wood and 14 ½” tot eh end of the pad. The metal is refinished and the bore is dark with dirt but mat clean. Measures 8mm but unknown chambering. An estate piece and good candidate for a rebuild or upgrade. (C&R) Est.: $500-$1,000
