Winchester Model 1895 Deluxe flat side lever action rifle, .30 U.S. cal., serial #1771. The rifle is in fine overall condition with a 28” round barrel. The barrel retains nearly all of its thinning blue finish with muzzle wear noted.The barrel features a Lyman front, folding, flat top sporting rear and receiver sights. The receiver retains the majority of its muted blue finish considerable case coloring observed on the hammer and trigger assembly. The rifle has hadsafari style sling swivels added at some point. The finely checkered, pistol grip stock features beautifully figured wood with stunning feather crotch in the butt stock. The butt stock has a Winchester marked hard rubber cap on the pistolgrip and ends with a smooth, metal shotgun butt plate. The bore is very good, the action crisp and markings sharp on this deluxe Model 1895. A Winchester factory letter accompanies the rifle noting it was received at the factory on May 15,1897 and shipped out the same day. The letter further confirms the host of special order features noted on this rifle. The most significant being the factory pistol grip stock of which it is believed only 286 were produced. A
