Colt 1849 Pocket model fully period engraved in cloud scroll style with panel scene on each side of the barrel lugs, S/N 38172. Only a handful of deluxe engraved pocket models are known with panel scenes and this early “Cloud” motif. The barrelmeasures 5”, lightly cleaned gray patina finish with burl wood grips. The barrel shows “Sam’L Colt” in script with hand cut Colt’s patent in scroll on the left side of the frame. Approximately 50%-60% cylinder scene remains. Thegrips are also cleaned. About good overall with signs of use, carry, and small repairs. A minty panel scene pocket fetched over $200,000. (Antique) Est.: $3500-$7000
