^Lot 163 Allen’s patent pepperbox in .31 caliber percussion, 6 shot, remaining in excellent original condit

Allen’s patent pepperbox in .31 caliber percussion, 6 shot, remaining in excellent original condition and cased with accessories. This impeccable pistol shows Allen & Thurber marking and Worchester, Mass on the barrels. Theframe shows 90%-95% bright high polish original blue finish as does the recoil shield. The grips are excellent. The hammer shows most of its original case colors. The barrels show 95% original mat blue finish which was less highlypolished. The case is also near fine in a partition style with wine colored velveteen showing only slight fading and impressions. An excellent leather covered pepperbox flask (Often found with Patersons) is included along with,mold, rod, and key. The box is near fine as is the exterior. Only slight handling and minor aging. A strong 9.5 on a 1-10 scale that would be very difficult to improve upon. If it was a coin it would be a MS64-65. (Antique) Est.: $3500-$7000
