Lot 81 Early Colt Single Action Army Revolver
Early Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #1502, .44-40 cal., 7-1/2'' barrel, originally blue and case hardened finish, one-piece walnut grips. Mfg'd late 1870s. Condition is good. This composite revolver appears to have originally been a rimfire model converted to centerfire. Rear left triggerguard bow marked ''22 Cal.'' Cylinder is #0980; barrel is #1502, as is the frame, triggerguard and backstrap. Nickel silver front sight is retained. Centerfire hammer is from the mid-20th Century, as is ejector rod and housing. Little original finish remains. Grips and action are very good, bore appears to have been bored to .44 from the smaller caliber. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)
