Ketland & Co. marked flintlock pistol restocked and remounted in America shortly after the turn of the century (1800’s). The pistol is accompanied by a note stating that it was found while doing construction in a house located in Franklin Co. Kentucky in 2005. The mounts are simple engraved silver or German silver with acorn finial on the trigger guard and flower at the center. Scroll carved around the tang. Old repair of wood around the lock and bused forestock. No test has been done to the wood but appears to be American dark walnut. The pistol has several distinct American characteristics and should be researched for authentication through U.S. Forest Service. Est.: $600-$1200
