U.S. Officer’s sword and metal scabbard in overall good to very good condition showing the majority of its original etching on the blade, nice patina to brass mounts and wire wrapped rayskin grip. The scabbard displays a toned nickel finish. Accompanying this sword is a cabinet photo of a U.S. Military officer holding a similar sword (no attribution of photo to sword) and a First Day of Issue 3 cent U.S. Postage stamp and letter commemorating the last National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in 1949.
