Early 20th Century Tooled Leather Saddle, by F.M. Stern, San Jose, CA, with high-back Calif. cantle, tooled leather seat, fenders and skirt, and leather covered horn. Nicely accomplished by California's oldest saddlemaker (F.M. Stern), who opened shop in San Jose in 1852. Condition is very good with metal covered wood stirrups. Shows even overall wear. Saddle additionally features a nice pair of small saddlebags marked ''F.A. Meanea/Cheyenne''. Est.: $500-$750. (Stand not included.)
