U.S. Model 1879 Trapdoor Cadet Rifle, by Springfield, #204430, .45-70 cal., 29-1/2'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, with 1882 cartouched walnut stock. Buffington rear sight may be a later update. Condition is very good retaining approx. 70% moderately toning blue. Case hardened breechblock has toned somewhat brown.
