U.S. Model 1840 Musician's Sword, by Ames, 28'' blade, 34'' overall, marked ''U.S.'', ''J.H.'' inspected, and dated 1864. This sword is essentially the same as a non-commissioned officer's sword adapted at the same time. Condition to sword and grip is excellent showing just light patination.
