U.S. Model 1860 Naval Boarding Cutlass, by Ames, 26'' blade, 32'' overall, with brass cupped guard and pommel, and originally with leather wrapped wood handle. Blade marked ''D.R./1862''; top of crossguard marked ''15M/32''. Condition is good. Wire wrap to grip is missing. Leather shows some traces in grooves. Even moderate patination to handguard, with moderate corrosion to blue blade. Brown leather scabbard shows oil darkening and loss to tip. Est.: $300-$500.
