Standard Model Burnside Carbine, by Burnside Rifle Co., Providence RI, #17143, .54 cal., 21'' barrel, blue finish, walnut stock and handguard. Chamber area marked ''Burnside Patent Model of 1864'', and used by many Cavalry regiments during the American Civil War. Condition is very good to near fine. Barrel shows 60% thinning and toning blue. Case colored frame shows vivid colors beneath saddlering bar with the balance toned a silvery gray. Stock with moderate nicks, scuffs and oil darkening.
