^Lot 196 Colt SAA Revolver

Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #165625, .45 Colt cal., 5-1/2'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, factory checkered hard rubber grips. Mfg'd in 1896 making it a true antique. Condition is very good as at least partially restored. Cylinder and ejector rod housing retain approx. 35% of what appears to be an original finish; barrel, which may be a replacement, shows 85% of a later frosty blue. Case hardened frame with muted case colors in protected areas. High edges near patent dates have been cleaned and polished to the point of thinning the date. Revolver has been re-numbered on frame, triggerguard and pistol grip. Original factory grips are from a somewhat later revolver. Front sight has been thinned and shortened considerably. Action is relatively tight, with fair to good bore. A great shooter with a good look. Est.: $1,800-$2,400.
